It's So Cold...How Long Can A-1 Concrete Leveling Still Work?

Ground soil temperatures are much slower to drop than ambient air temperatures. While you may have experienced frosts, below freezing temperatures, or even snow these are not individually sufficient to cause the soil to freeze. The freezing of the ground requires an extended period of time below freezing in the daytime as well as night. It does depend somewhat on soil type and soil hydration as well but in general, you need five or more days of sustained subfreezing temperatures before the soil will freeze solid. It would be pretty unusual for ground soil to be frozen anywhere in the continental United States at this time. That would not be expected until well into December or even January depending on temperature fluctuations. Give us a call at 716-341-4550 if you still need concrete leveling in 2019!
