It’s December in Buffalo and A-1 Concrete Leveling is still “Helping Raise Buffalo to Higher Ground”…..

A-1 is still going strong this December due to the warm temperatures Buffalo is experiencing. You have been busy thinking of others on your list this holiday season so why not give yourself the gift of a raised and stabilized driveway? Santa would approve!

The smart money move is on saving your existing concrete before it costs really big money to replace! Pressurizing soil and voids below the concrete while raising your sunken concrete is just like changing the oil or brake pads on your car rather than buying a new car; it makes financial sense and cents. Extend the life of your concrete with concrete leveling!  We look forward to working with you soon. Raising slabs back to their original position saves 50%-70% versus replacement and is environmentally friendly.  "We Pump It Up!"

The "Living Concrete" That Can Heal Itself

Wow! This development could radically change the construction industry. A scientist discovered a way to create concrete that heals itself when it cracks. The mixture contains water-soluble encapsulated bacteria that activate when they become wet. The bacteria then create limestone, which is the material we use to pump up sunken concrete, and the limestone generated seals the crack. Way to go, Science! Click here to read the story on CNN.

Top 10 Costliest Workplace Injuries - Slips, Trips & Falls - A-1 Can Help!

Facility managers should take note of this safety index released in 2014 by the Liberty Mutual Research Institute. The study includes 2012 data statistics compiled by the Bureau of Labor on the top ten causes and costs of the most disabling workplace injuries.

A-1 Concrete Leveling services can help reduce any facilities exposure for three of the top ten categories: falls on the same level, falls to lower level, and slip or trip without fall.

Falls on the same level ranked second. With $9.19 billion in direct costs this category accounted for 15.4% of the total injury burden. Falls to lower level ranked fourth with $5.12 billion and 8.6% of the burden. Slip or trip without fall ranked seventh with $2.17 billion and 3.6% of the burden.

$16.48 billion dollars is the combined cost of falls, trips and slips in the workplace.

If your facility has sunken or uneven slabs, be proactive and call A-1 at 716-341-4550 today for your complementary consultation. We look forward to helping you reduce your liability.

Beware the Power of Bad Advice

We are often called to look at projects where people have been given varying pieces of advice whether from friends, relatives, co-workers or contractors. As concrete leveling experts it is our practice and our responsibility to give advice wisely. This blog post really struck a chord with us. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you but because of poor advice you may miss the, sometimes obvious, solution for years. We try to keep our minds open and encourage you to do the same. A-1 is looking forward to helping you with concrete leveling solutions this year. Now, if only we could get this pesky snow to disappear... Hope to see you soon!
